ETA @ Kemaman District Educational Office (PPD)

Well, this might be a bit of an outdated news...but hey, at least it is in English right? ;P

On 20th February, our ETA, Ms. Alix and her mentor were invited to the District Educational Office to officially meet with the officers there. Another ETA from Vocational College and her mentor  were also there with the same purpose. It was a fun and interesting meeting. All of the officers there had to speak and ask questions in English because Tuesday is their English day. Ms Alix and Ms Mickey really enjoyed their time at the meeting since the officers treated them warmly. They went back to school afterward with a gift bag in their hand and a smile upon their face.

Writing Workshop!

Recently our ETA, Miss Alix, had organized a writing workshop for the form 5 students. Twenty students attended the workshop which was held at the school library from 3 p.m to 5 p.m. The students were really surprised and excited when they met with another ETA from Vocational College, Miss Mickey, who was also there to co-teach the workshop. The students feedback were quite good. Some said that the workshop was really fun and some said that they had learnt new things at the workshop. There will be more workshops coming soon. So stay tuned and don't forget to check the English Bulletin Board for any update. Cheerio!!

English eXpress Corner

Finally we managed to update our English Corner today. Thanks to Ain Maisarah and Qamarina's (both from 4 Aman class) hard work in decorating and putting up the materials. Hopefully the students of SMK Bukit Kuang will get some benefits out of it. All English Language Panel & English Language Society news updates will be posted here starting now. Any English related materials that you wish to share with the school are most welcome to be sent in. Please submit them to Ain Maisarah from 4 Aman or to any English Language teachers.

Bookcafe @ BuKSeS

Today we had the chance to grab some good deal books from the BookCafe Van. The van has quite a number of interesting books and novels for the students to buy. Teachers were also excited over some cook books and Islamic books. It is really an interesting book shop concept...bringing the books closer to you. Unfortunately, there were only a few English novels being sold. *sigh* Hopefully they can serve more English novels for our keen English readers soon.

New ETA at my school

Today our school received a new ETA from Colorado, USA. Her name is Miss Kerri Alexis Finnegan. We call her Miss Alix or Miss A. Ahaks ! She is a pretty and friendly lady. She came here to help BuKSeS students to improve their English and becomes better. NO MORE BROKEN ENGLISH!! At first, we thought that she was a shy girl. But, after we knew her today she was quite a talkative person. We asked her a lot about her family, study, pets, and her relationship. Her hobbies are reading, painting, and trekking. Her ambition when her small is to be a pilot. But, she said she failed at physics and she changes her ambition. She studied about science of environment. She studied about jungles, beaches, and hills or mountains. It was a thrilling experience. She also had climbed a mountain at Colorado and took a lot of pictures of that mountain by herself. IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL SCENERY!! She will stayed at our magnificent school around January to October. During that time, she will do a lot of activities that could attract our attention in English. She maybe will do some quiz, exploraces, helping us with chorasical sketch and else about english. Everybody here was absolutely exciting when they knew about this new ETA was a lady. In a nutshell, with this new ETA, we hope that our English will becomes better. I also hope that she will be fine here with her roommate, that goes to Kolej Vokasional, Kemaman.
